Lower part of Wenceslas Square to be revitalised

23.11.2019 — In the spring of 2020, revitalization works on the lower part of Wenceslas Square will commence. Residents of Prague as well as visitors to the Czech capital can look forward to a brand new modern public space. A venue for cultural events, new boulevards and walkways are just part of the planned work on the square. Another part of the revitalization is the preparation fora possible tram line in the future. Work at the bottom of Wenceslas Square should be completedby the end of 2021.

Discover World Heritage

23.4.2019 — The Central Library in Mariánské Square introduces photographs of the world's cultural and natural sites protected by UNESCO. This exhibition of unique photographs from the project of the creator, RNDr. Milena Blažková, will last until the 27th of April 2019.

Illustrators head to Prague

20.9.2019 — LUSTR, the international festival of contemporary illustration, takes place from the 19th to the 24th of September in Campus Hybernská. This year, the theme of the festival is freedom. The festival is an exhibition of current original illustration. Both the main and accompanying programmes point out key issues in today's society.

Tour Prague on a culture tram

15.6.2020 — A special 'culture tram' has begun touring Prague city. From the outside, the tram serves as a moving decoration for the streets of Prague, where it will ride through all year round; inside, it promotes various cultural events taking place in Prague. From time to time, events will also take place on the tram, which will be used as a mobile stage for concerts and theatre performances, or simply as a reading place. "Cultural life is finally slowly awakening after coronavirus. I am pleased that we can arrange cultural activities in this innovative way for the people of Prague too", Hana Třeštíková, Prague City Councillor for Culture and Tourism, said.

One World 2020 documentary film festival resumes

10.9.2020 — One World is an international human rights documentary film festival, which screens over a hundred international documentaries every year. Unfortunately, this year it was suspended mid-festival due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will resume from the 11th to the 22nd of September, offering the films that were not screened in the spring.

Květa Pacovská: ‘Run till the end’

18.11.2019 — Until the 1st of March 2020, Prague City Gallery is presenting an exhibition of works by the prominent Czech artist Květa Pacovská. You can see her early works on the 3rd floor of the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace.
